MB Dabney's newest novel, Pursuit of the Jade Empress, is the third book in his David Blaise mystery series. Published in May 2026, it comes on the heels of A Deadly Game and An Untidy Affair, which won widespread praise from critics and fans, and was a finalist in the mystery category at the Imaginarium Convention in 2022. A retired, award-winning journalist, Michael has spent a lifetime reporting and writing stories. The author of several published short- story mysteries, Michael is also the co-editor of "Scenic and Sinister," a 2026 anthology for the Speed City chapter of Sisters in Crime and includes his story, Death--In 9 Innings, as well as "Decades of Dirt" and "Murder 20/20," also for Speed City SinC. The father of two adult daughters -- and now a son-in-law -- Michael lives in Indiana with his wife, Angela.
